About Grady Yarbrough, Jr
Licensed Professional Counselor
Compassionate
Central to the art of the healer, Grady’s compassion allows a hurting person to describe and explore the sources of pain. Genuinely concerned and naturally empathetic, Grady helps his clients identify the emotions, historical events, and negative patterns that are essential to crisis or disruption. With guidance, individuals are encouraged to tackle what they previously would not attempt. One client characterized Grady as “a true healer of the wounded heart, an encourager, and one who brings correction without judgment.”
Competent
Originally trained in psychopathology, Grady has the knowledge to identify conditions by their symptoms and applies evidence-based remedies. He has learned, however, that the absence of psychopathology is not wellness: only the presence of life brings life. Over decades of specialized training, Grady has refined his methods that incorporate the individual’s personality, giftedness, and history. He helps to create an understanding of the current challenge and to re-launch the individual to great productivity, wholeness, creativity, and passion. Grady coaches and motivates individuals to develop confidence and a vision for the future. He guides clients to redefine their roles and to capitalize on their unique abilities.
Professional
Grady works with clients from all walks of life and from all over the country — from a vast array of professionals and entrepreneurs, students and stay-at-home parents. A consummate professional Grady respects each individual’s faith. Grady is a Christ-follower. Grady has found exploration of belief constructs to aid in the healing process. This may include the deconstruction of ideas, such as legalism or other religious distortions. If a client so chooses, Grady will guide them to a greater understanding of themselves in light of their relationship with God.
